Vera French Foundation

The Vera French Foundation was established in 1985 as the fund raising arm of the Vera French Community Mental Health Center.  The Foundation in cooperation with Vera French Community Mental Health Center, established the School-based mental health services program.  Today, this program has expanded to serve over 2,000 elementary school children and their families in all four school districts in Scott County.

Vera French Foundation is actively seeking support for a variety of the Center’s programs including the Client Needs Emergency Fund for adults and children, School-based Mental Health Therapy, Vera French Housing Scholarships, Summer Camp Scholarships, Mental Health First Aid and Pine Knoll Music Therapy.  The Foundation is committed to raising community awareness and stomping the stigma of mental illness by bringing nationally recognized personalities who can address mental health issues from the consumer perspective to our community.

Past speakers include Patty Duke and Joe Pantoliano.  The Foundation is also proud to support the work of NAMI Scott County and other organizations that benefit people facing the challenges of mental illness.
