Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

We are here for YOU! Vera French offices will remain open to those individuals experiencing a mental health crisis or individuals needing psychiatric medication via injection.

To reduce foot traffic at our offices due to COVID-19, we are encouraging all current Vera French clients to please visit with your provider via telephone. Call 563-383-1900 to setup a telehealth visit, and then your provider will call you at your scheduled visit time.

Thank you for the community support that is allowing us to continue to serve our clients during this time!

In accordance with directives from Governor Kim Reynolds and Governor J.B. Pritzker, we encourage clients who:

  • Live in Illinois and are “Sheltering in Place”
  • Have returned from out of area travel

To consider having their scheduled appointment over the telephone. Please call (563) 383-1900 to arrange for your appointment to be completed over the phone.

Per the recommendation to limit in-person groups to 10 individuals or less, we will be cancelling Peer Support Groups at the Carol Center and Rick’s House of Hope through Thursday, April 16th.

Operations that will be continuing from the Carol Center location include: IPR groups under 10 persons, the Peer Drop-In Center, Homeless Outreach, and Med Management.

As a reminder, if you have an appointment but are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or fall into one of the categories that the CDC has designated as high-risk, please call (563) 383-1900 to reschedule your appointment. You will not be penalized for a same day cancellation.

Vera French asks that high-risk patients avoid coming into our facilities. The CDC is defining high-risk patients that are/have:

  • Immunocompromised
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Lung disease
  • 60 years or older

We are working on rescheduling these individuals for at a minimum 8 weeks out. As a reminder, we are continuing to temporarily suspend the No Show/Same Day cancel policy.  If someone does not show or same day cancels, they will be allowed to reschedule but need to do so in a timely manner.

While COVID-19 is an evolving situation being closely monitored by officials in our area, experts are stressing the importance of hand washing. Social distancing is encouraged as a measure to restrict when and where people can gather to stop or slow the spread of infectious diseases.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is now a pandemic, a global outbreak of disease. Pandemics happen when a new virus emerges to infect people and can spread between people sustainably. Because there is little to no pre-existing immunity against the new virus, it spreads worldwide.
