Services Provided When They Are Needed

Help and support for our members is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, if needed. The ACT team motto is “no excuses accepted, we come to you.” 

Vera French has the sixth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in the state of Iowa. Vera French ACT team has a team lead, team nurse, team employment specialist, team substance abuse counselor, and team community specialist. ACT teams in Iowa have reduced member homelessness and incarcerations by 90% and decreased member hospitalizations by 80%.

To become a member, the diagnostic criteria must be met including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or bipolar with psychotic features and a completed referral form. The referrals can come from Vera French providers, external providers and caretakers.
