Vera French hosted a Get Out the Vote ID Action event for Election Day 2018 on Friday, October 5 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA.
County representatives, candidates, Vera French staff, and community members gathered for this educational event. The first hour of the event focused on instructions from the ID Action Team and Roxanna Moritz, local County Auditor, on voter education, voter registration, and get-out-the-vote (GOTV). The event concluded with 16 local candidates answering important questions about their platform and causes.
Each day at Vera French, we strive to give our clients the best resources possible so that they can live more fruitful lives. This education and awareness event was a catalyst for change in the system that impacts their lives on a daily basis and allowed for an increase in voter participation through legal, permissible, nonpartisan voter engagement activities in the 2018 midterm elections.
