Just-In-Time Scheduling Program
Just-In-Time Scheduling
Vera French started a new way to schedule appointments with prescribers on August 1st, 2025. The new process will make it easier to schedule an appointment with a prescriber within 3 to 5 days. This will eliminate the need to call for medication refills as a client will be evaluated by a prescriber. If appropriate the prescriptions will be given during the scheduled appointment. As of August 1st, 2025, there will be no medication line for refill requests.
Scheduling an Appointment
Contact Vera French at (563) 383-1900 to schedule an appointment. Client will be given a reminder card with a date to call to schedule the appointment. The date me coincide with the client have 7 days of medication left. If the reminder card has been misplaced, the client will know to call to schedule an appointment as prescriptions with need to be refilled within 7 days.
Prescriber Recommended Return Appointment
Prescriber will give slip with a recommended return date for the client to take to check-out. Please ensure client stops at check-out to receive their reminder card.
Reminder Cards for Future Appointments
Client will take the card given by the prescriber to the check-out area. Staff will give the client a reminder card. The reminder card will have the date the client will call to schedule next appointment. Clients will also receive an automated call or text reminding them that they need to call to schedule their next appointment.
For Example:
A client has an appointment on May 1. Prescriber requests client returns in 8 weeks for a follow-up appointment. Client will be given reminder card stating, ‘Please call VF at (563) 383-1900 on June 19 to schedule a follow-up appointment.’ Client calls on June 19, appointment will be scheduled typically between June 23-26.
Missed Appointment for Refills
If client misses an appointment without calling to cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment, client will not be able to reschedule. Refills will not be available until seen by a prescriber. A client will need to attend Walk-In Clinic during scheduled hours. Client will be seen for a brief appointment by an available prescriber. A client may be seen by an alternate prescriber to ensure timely access to care. Clients should be prepared to have a wait time to see a prescriber.
